It happens, especially in tech, but I’d say it’s still the exception to the norm.
Wrong. There was one thing truly exceptional about the USA: the best propaganda the world had ever seen. Certainly the most effective.
Give it some time. I’m sure they could be a whole lot worse still.
That thing will be around long after she’s gone, and, I hope, will show up on the first page of search results every time.
Nah, precisely because we would cash out and settle for peaceful lives long before we’d become billionaires or even millionaires. It takes a certain type of person to begin earning millions and conclude “that’s not nearly enough, I need this times a thousand”. None of them are “good” people.
Damn, Elon’s company town is barely a week old and others are already introducing scrip. I knew it was going to be inevitable but this is way faster than even I anticipated.
The Romans would call this an ill auspice.
This is real journalism, which has become increasingly rare these days. Everything else is just PR.
In the company’s defense, stealing an entire turkey is Lex Luthor levels of villainy.
Worst part is I went “Oh yeah, I saw this story yesterday” and then realized that no, that was about a Texas jail, this is Ohio…
For real. I explicitly append “give me the actual objective truth, regardless of how you think it will make me feel” to my prompts and it still tries to somehow butter me up to be some kind of genius for asking those particular questions or whatnot. Luckily I’ve never suffered from good self esteem in my entire life, so those tricks don’t work on me :p
Precisely. We like to think of ourselves as rational but we’re the opposite. Then we rationalize things afterwards. Even being keenly aware of this doesn’t stop it in the slightest.
Not to the Russian Su-30.
I’ve been bitten by mildly venomous snakes before. It’s definitely not pleasant, but to be honest, an irate housecat would do a lot more damage. It’s more like a bee sting. Still, props to this guy and the scientists who worked to get this result.
I keep hearing that for all new EVs you practically pay 20K for the batteries alone. No idea if that is actually cost or just extortion.
I love her gumption, but I really fear she’s underestimating her opposition. They’ve already shown they care nothing about the rule of law, so counting on that to “protect” you is a losing bet in the long term.
NGL, I’ve been thinking about ways to scam magats on their own social media platforms. They’re clearly the most gullible group of people in existence, so they’ve already self-selected for inability to think critically. Despite that I can’t bring myself to actually do it. Scrupules they obviously wouldn’t bother with if it was the other way around…
I’m 100% sure they already have the data, they’re just now creating a “legal” framework in order to be able to use it, parallel-construction style.
At first it annoyed me slightly but I’ve noticed that I can understand most of them without having to use a translator, so now it’s just free language practice. And deciphering memes is decidedly more fun than taking a course.
