Huh? I’m literally talking about like anxiety memes, adhd, autism, etc. Just not topics I find interesting.
Don’t have any instances blocked, but I block all the political, trans, furry, and mental illness communities. I wish people wouldn’t post political stuff to the YSK or general memes communities, there are 5 million better places to post that on lemmy, but it’s manageable.
I assume moe? Which I think means cute?
Virgin online activist vs the CHAD meme and amateur pornography enjoyer
Ohhhhhhhhhh I get it! They called it Vista like a view, like something you would see out of a window (I am not very smart)
Well, fwiw if a guy doesn’t want to date you cause you’re 5’7 you dodged a bullet. Same with the rest of these superficial “rules”. like it’s one thing to have a preference but idk why you would reject someone outright over something like that
I’d say it’s a expression that does have gender associations, but it’s not offensive or anything to call a woman dude in the right context. If anything it is usually used as a gesture of camaraderie, in this case because a woman has suffered in a way that men can understand.
Wait really? Are you straight? I’d be really surprised any guys would think 5’7 is too tall.
I mean I’ll take it. Best case scenario is Trump is finally getting wise to the fact that Putin is playing him like a fiddle, worst case is he forgets about this by tomorrow and goes back to both-sidesing the war.
Yeah I found that to be pretty annoying as well when I started. I don’t mind the occasional political post but it’s the same handful of talking points again and again so it gets old fast. I recommend just blocking users and blocking communities; you’d be surprised how quickly that clears them out. Lemmy is small enough that once you block a dozen or two people that post politics nonstop you give the other content room to breathe.
I mean, you take your pick-which generation would you actually want to switch with? Baby boomers had it better economically (if you were a white man) but a lot less tolerance for everything from being a single woman to interracial marriage (much less gay marriage or transgender recognition)
Wait, who said gender roles are dead? That’s not a thing. Assuming youre a man, most women that are interested in you (or might be interested in you in the future) will expect you to make the first move. I don’t think that’s the patriarchy at work; most straight women want a man who is confident and assertive and I don’t think there’s anything problematic about that.
Balk all they want, the resolution will still be binding to them. If they don’t like it they can leave the EU and take Hungary with them.
“New EU legislative proposals need approval from the European Parliament and a reinforced majority of EU countries.”
That is different than sanctions which need to be unanimous (bit of an odd discrepancy)

Natural gas blimps! It’s already lighter than air after all…

Lukoil in the USA is American owned (as a franchise) and operated and does not use Russian oil. We don’t import any Russian oil to the US. Some money does go overseas but Lukoil is (nominally) a private company so seems to have avoided sanctions. Overall I’d say there are bigger fish to fry.
I think it is a trend that men in general are less inquisitive about each other’s personal lives and discuss them less often, yes. I don’t think that’s an inherently good or bad thing but I think it’s true. Also, it’s worth noting that the “PMS mood swings are a social construct” theory is still listed as an “Alternative Theory” on the Wikipedia page and the handful of women I’ve talked to about it have all said no, the mood swings are definitely real.
I’m not so sure eating out a restaurant that doesn’t use disposable utensils/dishes is really wasteful at all. The only difference i can think of is if you drove a long distance to get there. But it might actually be more efficient from an energy consumption perspective. You might have to heat up your oven just for a meal for a few people but they are going be cooking up a lot of stuff at once. I’d say the much bigger factors are a) are you wasting good and b) what kind of food are you eating.
