Right! That move got him on the short list of possible popes. If the church actually made any remediation towards their victims they would be broke. And since they can’t make things right from their past actions they’ll never stop doing those acts. Organized religion will always lead to corruption and abuse.
They’ve crippled most nonprofits and small corporations. Mission accomplished. They’ll use the windfall from a new free trade agreement to snap up market share and assets. And about 100 years later, rinse and repeat.
The whole ideology of conservatism is to conserve the status quo. Literally waking up to reality is being against anyone still a conservative.
And they never were going to pay labor in America. Our world economic systems created this problem with the US at the head. Now that we are entering late stages of capitalism we want to cry about things being unfair… We have to rethink the whole world economy not just what the US is doing.

Democrats didn’t flip on gay rights until Obama, and the Supreme Court did marriage equality. (Yes better than Republicans) Democratic leadership is already trying to send trans people under the bus to try to save face with the Republicans. Both sides are bad! We need to demand more from the democrats and force them to support the working class and to never back down when talking about human rights. Right now. The Democratic party is nothing more than an enabler of our abusive and coercive government/economic systems that allows lessor evils to even exist.
Uhhhhhh my point still stands and I was sorta right. Simply committing to ending a genicide lost votes. As well as just being too right on minimum wage, immigration, wealth redistribution, education, LGBTQ+, law enforcement reform, the military industrial complex, etc to pull populist appeal. And if the dems continue to ignore the working class issues they’ll lose the next election as well. (if there’s another election.)
This is just normal to people that grew up around evangelicals. Those nut jobs are everything they hate, but pump out kids as a way to be immortal.
As an African American, those 250 years of building was never for us, so while I’m happy that our unjust systems are crumbling under their own weight of stupidity. I wish it was being properly dismantled brick by brick from the left opposed to knocked over by what appears to be two elderly men with clearly anti social sociopathic and toxic masculinity, driving a triangle shaped truck that struggled to drive up a curb. The wall has just fallen on top of the poor, POC, and LGBTQ+ community. And the capitalist are going to just see the heep of bodies and bricks as a new road to drive over.
