I live and die by my pocket notebook and phone calendar.
Where in America? I don’t doubt it, I’m just not familiar with it. Is it possibly something that has fallen out as a slang term or incredibly regional?
You ain’t wrong, but I said the same thing about him. Almost exactly. The biggest difference is I wouldn’t have to hold my nose to vote for Bernie, I genuinely like the dude and my policy quibbles come down to quibbles.
Rant incoming.
Hell, the DNC may run Bernie now that he’s old enough. Or they’ll pick a cop to lead the ticket where their side doesn’t like or trust the police. Anything as long as they don’t win. Their last big winners were Obama and Clinton, both of which were in their 40s. Can’t make that fucking mistake again I guess. Even on the R side it’s been middle aged people rather than geriatric motherfuckers since Reagan until Trump. When the fuck did someone decide that you can’t be president unless you were a billion years old? I want someone who represents the future and wants to take us there, not someone whose slogan is “I’ve seen the future, and it’s a better past…which I also saw because I lived through all of human history”.
I love Bernie and I would vote for him if he were on the ballot, but he has no business being president at this age. I think he recognizes that and that’s why he’s actively helping the new generation.
I fully agree with this and formed my opinion based on your comments and posts. I’ll be getting all my opinions from you from now on.
But not simultaneously.
I’m on mine far more often than I’m in a car. I think Tesla found out that I point and laugh at any cyber trucks I see at red lights while I’m out and is trying to kill me.
It belongs in a museum!
There are both groups, and some in-betweeners. I have known several actual white supremacists. They are who they are. They hold “church” and talk about how all this is to keep the white man down.
I’ve known plenty who are casually racist but are more “I just don’t like them” than anything organized. They believe some of it, but they expect things to work out because they’re white so they don’t organize.
I’ve known LOADS of people who are just ignorant. They live in a bubble where all they hear is about how the government is trying to give others a leg up and they’re jealous. Where’s their help? They grew up poor. If someone in their past benefited from slavery or oppression it was squandered. They have friends and family of color and genuinely love them. Some of them are white passing POC. They do tremendous harm out of ignorance and because they were lied to. That’s not an absolution, because they could go find the information, but an indictment of the media bubble that they’re in and some of the others they associate with.
That doesn’t just go for racists. Sexists and LGBTQIA bigots are the same.
Back when I did stuff for the sake of doing it, I mapped DAW transport buttons to these. I never bothered replacing them when they broke because I moved to a jog wheel to scrub through much more efficiently.
I agree with the great majority of what you’re saying except:
have likely never known poverty
I grew up in poverty along with almost everyone else in my hometown. The whole area is super red. That’s exactly the kind of thing they believe.
Not to say there aren’t those kinds of people who haven’t known poverty, it just doesn’t seem to factor in.
I used to get that question a lot when I was a kid. I always politely said “no thanks”.
It turns out my face always said “Are you fucking stupid? I understand how to heat things” while I was trying to be a little polite. I found this out when I visited my parents recently and found out that, while I’m still trying to be polite, my face still tells my mom that I’m capable of deciding on the temperature of my food.
My face says things that I don’t mean to say even when I’m trying not to be an ass.
